SALLY MARTIN'S AFFORDABLE ART AFFAIR
Day 24
As a challenge to paint more successfully on a smaller scale, earlier this year I undertook a project to create 100 paintings in 100 days. The process was a revelation and I now realize I miss the daily deadline, it seems to really intensify and focus my creative drive! Another benefit is that is allows me to experiment with new media, dip in to other subject matter and create small artworks that I can offer at very affordable prices.
So, here I go again .......

Day 24
Approx A4 oil sketch on paper
£50
After saying this week is about colour I had the urge to do some muted colour oil sketches!! I have been wanting to portray this Hackney which really caught my eye at the Edenbridge and Oxted show, he was gorgeous.
I actually did a series of sketches, three of this particular composition. It looks so simple but this was the last sketch of the session and one I liked the most because i felt the lines were the most pure. To keep fluid and loose is the thing, except when things are going well you think "oooo I like this, I hope I don't falter on this last line........" and yep by the time that thought has interrupted the flow the line gets messed up!! So you have to flow through and let it happen and it feels really good when you get something you like! So although this sketch took less than a minute, it took over and hour to loosen up and work up to it...and there is always room for improvement!
About my Affordable Art Artworks
My subject matter will be mainly equestrian, with some figurative, still life and landscape included.
Sizes will vary, I will post full details with each image.
If you are interested in receiving my e-newsletter sign up at www.sallymartinfineart.com/newsletter
Conditions of purchase from The Affordable Art Gallery
Please understand colours may vary slightly between the actual painting and the image on your screen
due to my digital camera's results and your monitor.
Box canvases can be displayed framed or unframed. Canvas panels will need framing , in paintings where I have worked right up to the edge of the canvas I recommend 'float' framing so the edges remain uncovered by the frame. Works on paper will require mounting, glazing and framing, the image size is the mount board aperture size I suggest for the image.
Works are sold on a first come first served basis, as I am not always able to immediately update the sales status occasionally paintings become twice sold, in which case I will immediately refund the payment. I make every effort to avoid such occasions.
Money Back
If the painting is returned within 30 days of the buyer receiving it, Sally Martin will return money paid minus fees (PayPal /Credit card) and shipping.
The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs
